The Bangor Daily News and SportsNet Maine are pleased to partner to stream Maine high school basketball games live on the BDN website. The double show that aired Thursday, February 7, sending Mt. Blue of Farmington to Brewer High School, has been postponed.

On the boys’ side, coach Ben Goodwin’s Brewer team have an opportunity to advance to the regional quarter-finals, but must beat the Cougars in that game. The Witches enter the match with an 8-9 record and sit ninth in the Heal Point standings.

Brewer needs to win and get some help in other games to get past Skowhegan (7-10) or Medomak Valley of Waldoboro (12-5), who is also playing Thursday night.

Mt. Blue secured a berth in a tournament as coach Travis Magnusson’s Cougars are 11-6 and sit third in Class A North. Mt. Blue won the first meeting with the Witches, making a 75-61 decision on December 11.

For girls, the two teams will close their respective seasons. Brewer is the No. 10 seed with a 5-12 record, while Mt. Blue is ranked ninth at 7-10.
