BETHESDA, Md. – November 11, 2016 – The Washington Capitals’ march to the 2016-17 Stanley Cup Playoffs will be available in more places and on more screens than ever before, as CSN Mid-Atlantic announced that its live game coverage, along with the Caps GameTime and Caps Extra game shows, will be available to stream live on CSNmidatlantic.com and the NBC Sports app beginning Saturday, Nov. 12 in Carolina (7 p.m.)
Live Capitals coverage will be available to authenticated CSN Mid-Atlantic subscribers on desktops, tablets, mobile devices and connected TVs across the United States. The new service supports NBCUniversal’s “TV Everywhere” initiative, which provides consumers with added value and makes high-quality content available to authenticated customers both at home and away, and on multiple platforms. Powered by Playmaker Media, the NBC Sports app is available on Apple iOS, Android and select Samsung devices, as well as Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Win10 and Xbox.
CSN’s addition of Capitals streaming follows the introduction of Washington Wizards live streaming in 2014, which has seen significant consumer gains over the past two seasons. This season, CSN is expected to broadcast more than 140 combined Capitals and Wizards games live, as well as more than 100 hours of television programming.
“CSN is proud to provide comprehensive, high-quality coverage of the Capitals before, during and after games, so we are pleased to now offer this content on more platforms,” said CSN Mid-Atlantic President, Rebecca Schulte. “Passionate and dedicated Capitals fans can enjoy another exciting season how they want, where they want.
“We have the best fans in the NHL and we’re thrilled to provide them with the ability to access CSN’s world-class Capitals hockey coverage across multiple platforms,” said Capitals owner Ted Leonsis. “This decision reflects our continued efforts to increase our team’s visibility and connect with more fans across multiple mediums.”
This service is available NHL-wide on CSN’s regional sports networks, which means all of NBC’s local sports networks will carry it.
