Streaming device provider Elgato has launched the new Stream Deck pedal for foot control of streams.

It consists of three footswitch buttons that can be programmed – like the standard Stream Deck – to control software, hardware and more.

At its most basic, that means keeping your hands on the controller or mouse while playing games. But it also has other applications.

For some disabled streamers, for example, the Stream Deck pedal might provide useful alternative inputs, though the price tag might be off-putting to some.

Plus, as more non-gaming content creators join streaming platforms, the footswitch provides additional control away from a computer desk – for musicians for example.

Elgato also promises that the pedal “is designed to take a kick without moving.” So streamers can step on it as they please.

See the Elgato product page for more details.

Elgato also announced its official Discord Stream Deck plugin to control Discord using its devices.

Twitch streamers are currently campaigning for the platform to introduce Disability Pride Month, with a post on UserVoice now garnering over 1,100 votes.
