Elgato Stream Deck: a great tool for streamers

Elgato has released this little black box displaying 15 programmable buttons that seeks to make the life of streamers much easier.

The Elgato Stream Deck plugs into your computer’s USB port and lets you program up to 210 actions with these 15 buttons. It’s a great tool for streamers who want to schedule actions with just the push of a button.

Here’s what it looks like right out of the box. Its appearance, when not turned on, looks elegant but basic. It’s a simple black box with buttons.

As you can see, it comes with a small stand to hold it and a cord with a USB plug on the end. Again, at this point, it looks like a basic little black box with a few buttons.

When turned on, it shows a bit more color and generally brightens up the screen. Custom backlit buttons allow you to personalize it.

For example, if you are streaming and need to change something in OBS, it can sometimes become a challenge. However, with this flow platform, you just program it to communicate with that particular function and it’s right at your fingertips with the push of a button. You can also program the buttons to open programs or play a video, GIF, or other animation. With the push of a button, you can even send a tweet! To be honest, you can program these buttons to do just about anything.

Verdict: As you can see, the features included with Elgato Stream Deck make it a nice tool to have. It seems, at first, that it is mainly for streamers, but this device can help others as well. The programming capabilities make it a good tool for anyone who needs a set of quick access keyboard shortcuts to be productive. It has endless capabilities for the streamer as you can schedule over 200 actions. It’s good to have it built into the popular streaming software before and the programming process is a simple drag and drop feature. It is user-friendly and very easy to install just by plugging in the USB cable. Overall, I don’t see how anyone could go wrong with the Elgato Stream Deck.
