The Stream Deck, not to be confused with its portable cousin, is currently on sale in the Amazon Prime Day Sales (opens in a new tab). This kit is instantly recognizable to many content creators, especially streamers, as an essential part of a creator’s PC setup, so much so that I’m looking at one on my desk right now.
I’ve written before about how small, casual streamers shouldn’t feel like they have own a Stream Deck (opens in a new tab) be a streamer. It’s often worth buying quality mics, headsets, and cameras first. However, when the Stream Deck has a good chunk of its price, I can accept the idea of buying it when it’s a bargain. It is available at a low price of £89.99 (opens in a new tab) Where $89.99 (opens in a new tab) depending on whether you are in the UK or the US.
The Stream Deck that is on sale is the original 15 Key Deck in black. There are smaller and larger options, but I found 15 keys more than enough for all my streaming needs.
These keys are programmable LCD screens that you can connect to streaming software and other Elgato products like its Ring Light or Key Lights. These keys can open software, take clips, play ads, etc. It’s just a tangible and easy way to control certain aspects of your stream, or just your usual setup.
As far as I can tell there isn’t a huge advantage to buying the new Mk. 2 over the original, other than the base of the Classic is a little flimsier and the Mk. 2 looks a little better . But I’ve never been too bothered by the Classic’s occasional crash in the two years I’ve owned one.
Even if you’re not a content creator, if you always open the same software, pause and play music, or just need more keyboard shortcuts in your life, the Stream Deck is a desktop item. strong enough to have.
