In Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, fans can explore a new version of the famous New York City firehouse that also serves as the Ghostbusters’ fictional headquarters. Highlights include the ground floor, which houses the Ecto-1, as well as a high-tech laboratory and the basement, which houses one of the most crucial pieces of equipment, the confinement.
In a new screenshot uploaded to the Spirits Unleashed Instagram page, it looks like since the events of the first film, which saw Walter Peck’s questionable and loud request to “close it”, the grid received some notable improvements.
Now featuring a larger overall design and a visual screen that features different prompts, it’s been confirmed by developer Illfonic that the Containment Unit will function the same as seen in the first movie. This means that once you return from a successful call, it will be up to you to offload the troublesome spectrum to storage. Don’t forget Ray Stantz’s pro tip, “light green, the trap is clean.”
Over the past few months, gameplay footage from Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has shown the basement, with the most recent being a live Twitch stream hosted by Illfonic. If you missed the stream, check out our full recap below, with a quick look at the basement at around 1:13, which features a “EMPTY TRAP” message from the Containment Unit.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed lets fans choose a Proton Pack or wreak havoc as Ghost, with cross-platform multiplayer gaming launching October 18 on PC from the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
