Leeds vs Liverpool: The pace of play will be high and the style chaotic, when the pressing Reds visit the pressing Whites at Elland Road on Sunday (Watch live at 11:30 a.m. ET, on NBCSN and online at NBCSports.com).
While the tactics don’t vary too much when Jurgen Klopp and Marcelo Bielsa battle it out, the results leading up to Sunday’s showdown have certainly changed. Liverpool came out of the starting gates beating Norwich City and Burnley before facing a tougher test in the form of 10-man Chelsea, who they could only fire at Anfield. Virgil van Dijk’s return to sensational form has answered any remaining questions about Liverpool’s defense after Van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez were all out of action for most of last season. Once again, Klopp can defend effectively with three players while pushing seven in attack, thanks to Van Dijk’s ability to cover half the pitch against the best forwards in the world.
Leeds, on the other hand, are still looking for their first win of the season. Manchester United thrashed them 5-1 on the opening day but Leeds bounced back to draw Everton and Burnley ahead of the recent international break.

If there’s one team in the Premier League that’s more comfortable with Leeds’ style than Leeds themselves, it’s Liverpool. Add to that the absence of Raphinha, and Leeds are truly struggling without their most important and irreplaceable creator and player. And yet Liverpool are further hampered by quirky international rules. It will be a thriller, and an even split of points. Leeds 2-2 Liverpool.
