Back and forth. Kylie Jenner argues with a makeup artist on social media. The Kylie Cosmetics founder was called out for her sanitation protocols when she posted a photo in what appeared to be a lab to create her products.
Kylie posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a lab coat with the caption, “in the lab creating new magic for you guys 💕 better than ever. @kyliecosmetics. Immediately after the post, makeup artist KJ Bennett posted a photo criticizing The Kardashians star. “I know the Kardashian/Jenner stans are going to grab my throat for calling their cosmetics queen…but WTF @kyliejenner 🤬🤨🤬,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m a cosmetics developer and I work with cosmetics manufacturers (and their labs) as part of my job. I have very short hair and have NEVER been allowed into the lab or the manufacturing site without a hairnet, shoe covers, face mask…and disposable GLOVES. He continued: “Kylie tricks her followers into thinking she’s making cosmetics. And I’d like to know what ignorant manufacturer (in Italy) let her stage this photo shoot in their lab and at the place of manufacture – without following proper sanitation protocols I need the name because I want to make sure my clients NEVER work with them Friends this is not how we create cosmetics and misrepresent how cosmetics work our industry Credible manufacturers follow STRICT sanitation protocols to protect you.
Kylie replied in her comments: “Kevin – this photo is not taken in a manufacturing facility. I would never circumvent health protocols and no other celebrity or beauty brand owner would either. it’s completely unacceptable, I agree.” She continued, “This is a small personal space creating my own fun samples and taking pictures for content away from mass production. No one is putting customers at risk! shame on you Kevin for spreading false information!!!!”
Kevin then replied, “So you were standing on a platform looking into an expensive blending kettle that had processed at least 50 liters of a foundation product (the product still covering the mixing paddles) with no PPE or hair tied back, wearing a @ wearing a lab coat? But it’s not a cosmetics manufacturing laboratory, it’s a personal space? Wow, there are some serious gaslights here. The beauty influencer fired back, “oh you been there kevin? ugh now i have to change my dog’s name.
This isn’t the first time this year that Kylie has come under fire on social media. In February, Trixie Mattel hit back at Kylie and her cosmetics brands for stealing her idea for her Valentine’s Day palette. An Instacart driver who claimed to deliver groceries to Kylie posted his experience on TikTok. “That bitch could have paid me more,” he said in the video from inside his car. “I see all these assistants, all these maids and all that. I haven’t seen Kylie, I haven’t seen Stormi, but I swear I heard a baby cry,” which would refer to Kylie and Travis Scott’s children, Stormi, or their son whose name has not yet been revealed.
Kylie responded directly to the video in a comment thread that is now deleted, “Nobody crosses the door!” she wrote. “lying to get attention is rubbing me the wrong way sorry,” she added a second comment, “didn’t order this myself! it was notified through the app. a also lied seeing through my windows and hearing my son cry.??” She then made a TikTok video of her making sandwiches which featured the pepperoni that Pablo showed off on his own TikTok. She commented on her video, “if you don’t know what I’m talking about, carry on.”
The Kardashians is available to stream on Hulu. Here’s how to watch it for free.
For more on the Kardashians, check out Kris Jenner’s memoir from 2011, Kris Jenner… and all things Kardashian, in which the momager tells her untold story of how she led her six children – Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Rob, Kendall and Kylie – to international stardom and built their multimillion-dollar empire. You may think you know the Kardashians, but as Kris explains in her book, what’s in the media and in keeping up with the Kardashians is just the tip of the iceberg. In Kris Jenner… and all things Kardashian, Kris reveals how she balanced six children (not to mention four stepchildren and numerous grandchildren) while building a business for her family. The book also delves into Kris’ relationship with Nicole Brown Simpson before and after her husband, OJ Simpson, was framed for her murder.
