For a while it looked like Manchester City’s preseason was falling apart.
A COVID-19 outbreak at City Football Academy, associated with first-team players arriving late for training after their respective international duties threatened a slow and tired side as the season kicks off against Leicester City on August 7.
However, just before kick-off against Preston North End on Tuesday night, Manchester City announced that they secured a second friendly against Premier League side Barnsley on Saturday night.
