Plus a new notification hub and profile pinning features
Microsoft officially launched its xCloud game streaming service last week, allowing users to stream console games directly from their Android phones — and Android TVs, even unofficially. Now the company is releasing a big update for the Xbox mobile app that includes brand new features, including the ability for anyone to stream console games to their phones with Xbox Remote Play.
The new update is a complete overhaul from the ground up. According to the company, the goal is to allow gamers to stay connected to their friends as well as games, regardless of the device they prefer to use. A new unified notification inbox hosts party invites, messages, and more.
There’s also a new version of the sharing feature that should make sharing gameplay clips and console screenshots much easier, as well as the ability to pin your best moments directly to your profile. And last but not least, Xbox Remote Play (aka Xbox Console Streaming) is now open to everyone, not just Xbox Insiders. This means you can stream your console games directly from your phone to play on the go.
Experience the new update for yourself directly from Mirror APK or the Play Store now.
