The South African star is known for his fusion of Afro-house and electronica, seamlessly blending sounds from these broad genres with elements of alternative pop and soul. He rose to international fame after his debut album ‘Africa To The World’ was certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).
For his hit “Akanamali” with Samthing Soweto, Into Ingawe with Ami Faku and his album “Africa to the World”, Sun-EL Musician was also nominated and won several SAMAs (South African Music Awards). With 31 tracks, Sun-EL Musician’s second album was released in December 2020. The album enjoyed considerable streaming success not only in South Africa but also internationally, receiving top ratings on all DSPs and the radio charts.
He is now also widely known for the work he does on his own label, El-World Music. El-World Music has a knack for seeking out the best talent and harnessing new sounds. Throughout his career he has also worked with Black Coffee, Msaki, Simmy, Ami Faku and many more. As a DJ, Sun-EL Musician knows how to start a party and create the perfect atmosphere for any music fan.
Sebastién Dutch and Mpho.Wav join him at Lab Johannesburg. Sebastién Dutch was born in Ndola, Zambia and was the 2017 winner of the AX DJ Challenge, and played an All-Africa event in Ibiza. Since then he has been on the rise and now tours and mixes tracks from the African continent and has gained an international reputation for his talent as a DJ. In 2013 he released a collaborative album with the late DJ LBC titled “Power Of The Drum”.
Mpho.Wav is a DJ and producer from South Africa, who is signed to Sun-El Musician’s own El-World Music label. The rising star is a talented DJ with eclectic tastes.
