Netball Australia, the national governing body, has announced the launch of a new streaming platform which will broadcast the elite Suncorp Super Netball competition live for international users.
From the start of the 2022 season, the NetballAustralia.TV platform will provide live coverage of all matches, as well as on-demand content, to fans outside of Suncorp Super Netball’s home territories in Australia and New Zealand.
Australian viewers will be able to watch select national governing body-sanctioned international matches, such as the ongoing PacificAus Sports Netball Series, via NetballAustralia.TV. This series is also available for overseas platform subscribers.
With an official launch on the 24and March coverage of Suncorp Super Netball on NetballAustralia.TV begins two days later as defending champions New South Wales Swifts take on the Sydney-based Giants.
Subscriptions to the new over-the-top (OTT) service are priced at AU$2.49 (US$1.85) per week, with access to the entire season, including the Super Netball finals, available for 29.99 Australian dollars (22.27 US dollars).
National broadcast rights to Netball Australis have been held by the Foxtel Group since 2013, with national coverage currently provided by linear channel Fox Sports and streaming platform Kayo. Super Netball says a broadcast deal for New Zealand will be revealed “in the coming days”.
