The 2022 ICC WOMEN’S WORLD CUP will be streamed live and free on KAYO

With no network choosing to pick up the free-to-air rights to the tournament, Kayo is offering its coverage live and for free, without a subscription.

Kayo Sports announced today that it will broadcast every ball from every match of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 live and free for all Australian cricket fans.

The tournament – which will be hosted in New Zealand in March – will be broadcast on Kayo Freebies, meaning fans can watch all the action live for free, without a subscription. Fans just need to sign up, the same way they do for free streaming apps, to unlock all the best action in women’s cricket.

Chairman and CEO of Kayo Sports Julien Ogrin said placing the tournament on Freebies reinforced Kayo’s commitment to supporting and growing audiences for women’s sports.

He said:

“The T20 Women’s World Cup in 2020 produced incredible action and attracted large audiences. With more and more fans now choosing to stream cricket live, this is another opportunity for us to show our support. to the Australian women’s cricket team and to introduce Kayo to all Australians who love cricket.

Kayo’s decision to make the Women’s Cricket World Cup available live and free follows yesterday’s confirmation that free-to-air TV would not show the women’s tournament.

australian wicket keeper Alyssa Healy said the decision was a huge win for cricket fans.

She says:

“It’s one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and I’m delighted that the fans now have the opportunity to see us play on the biggest stage and make them proud.

“The way people watch cricket is changing, with young fans in particular choosing to stream cricket on their mobiles or tablets. This initiative taps into this next generation and helps to greatly expand our audience. I hope they can support and encourage us at home.

Now that almost all Australians have internet access, the Kayo initiative is making women’s cricket accessible to everyone and bringing a new generation of fans who love streaming women’s cricket. Kayo Freebies can be accessed by downloading the Kayo Sports app or by visiting Kayo Freebies are free, with no credit card details required. Fox Sports’ live coverage of the CommBank Women’s Ashes series is also being streamed live on Kayo, including every ball from the Canberra Test, which is due to start on Thursday January 27.
