Tonight’s BDN/SportsNet Maine Basketball live games have been postponed due to weather

The Bangor Daily News and SportsNet Maine are pleased to partner in broadcasting live Maine high school basketball games on the BDN website. The doubleheader airing Thursday, February 7, sending Mt. Blue from Farmington to Brewer High School has been postponed.

In the boys’ game, coach Ben Goodwin’s Brewer team had the opportunity to earn a berth in the regional quarterfinals, but had to beat the Cougars in that game. The Witches enter the game with an 8-9 record and sit ninth in the Heal Point standings.

Brewer needs to win and get some help in other games to get past No. 8 Skowhegan (7-10) or seventh-seeded Medomak Valley of Waldoboro (12-5), who also play Thursday night.

Mt. Blue earned a berth in the tournament as coach Travis Magnusson’s Cougars are 11-6 and sit in third place in Class A North. Mt. Blue won the first encounter with the Witches, taking a 75-61 decision on December 11.

For girls, the two teams will end their respective seasons. Brewer is the No. 10 seed with a 5-12 record, while Mt. Blue is seeded ninth with a 7-10 record.

The BDN/SportsNet Maine live stream game will be available on your tablet or desktop at Use #BDNhoops on Twitter and Facebook to let us know you’re watching!
