The women’s basketball season is underway and on Friday Marist and Eastern Kentucky will face off across the pond in Dublin, Ireland in the MAAC/ASUN Challenge. The Red Foxes are 0-3 this season, losing games to Villanova, Penn and Green Bay. Against Green Bay, Maeve Donnelly led the team with 13 points and added 10 rebounds for her first double-double with the Red Foxes. Marist had foul trouble in the fourth quarter, allowing the Phoenix to score nine points from the free throw line. The team will be looking to bounce back in Ireland and secure that first win of the season.

The Colonels are 2-1 this season with an 89-81 loss to Evansville in the season opener before bouncing back for a two-game winning streak. The team’s most recent win came in a 64-56 win over Morehead State. Alice Recanati led the Colonels with 14 points and Emma Hacker was right behind her with 12 points. Antwainette Walker recorded her third straight double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
This will be the first time these two teams meet.
